Shira Flann, 11 year old craftswoman, entrepreneur and lifelong learner happened upon a display of beautiful gel candles while exploring the farms of Pemberton during this year’s slow food cycle.
“I really thought they were interesting” says Shira. “I couldn’t help but think of all the incredible possibilities.”
Shira returned home and began her research and with a little help along the way, managed to source all the materials for some trail gel candle making. The first few attempts were less than amazing. Between all-days melting attempts, smoke filled kitchens and candle that were foggy clustered up messes of wax we were tempted to throw in the towel but Shira persevered and in the next few days, a handful of candles worthy of Bratz Biz were born. Since then, Shira has been working diligently each weekend, designing and producing an exciting array of candle in many shapes and sizes.
“Family and friends have been bugging me to sell them some candles before the show”, say Shira but she is not releasing any product before the opening on November 28th. “Until then, I’ll be working away making each of my candle creations special!”
